The Corpus Christi procession represents the typical form of a Eucharistic procession. It is a prolongation of the celebration of the Eucharist: immediately after Mass, the Sacred Host, consecrated during the Mass, is borne out of the Church for the Christian faithful “to make public profession of faith and worship of the Most Blessed Sacrament.” (Holy Communion and Worship of the Eucharist Outside Mass, 101; Code of Canon Law, 944)

All are welcome to join the Most Reverend Francis Leo, Archbishop of Toronto, for a Corpus Christi Procession here at the Cathedral on Sunday, June 2, 2024, following the Noon Mass. A short walking procession will take place in the streets surrounding the Cathedral followed by Solemn Benediction. Time for fellowship will take place after the procession in the Cathedral courtyard.

The Corpus Christi Eucharistic procession publicly and reverently honours the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, which is the source and summit of our Christian life.

To accommodate the procession around the block, Bond St. will be closed from Shuter St. to Dundas St. As a result, street parking and the school playground/parking lot will be inaccessible. Please plan on taking public transit or parking at an alternate location on this day. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you are unable to walk with the procession, you are welcome to remain in the Cathedral where you can follow along with the prayers and hymns which will be recited and sung along the way. Worship aids will be provided.

We look forward to having you join us for the Cathedral’s inaugural Corpus Christi Procession and hope to make this an annual tradition for years to come.
