Word on Fire Digital

The Word on Fire Digital platform created by Word on Fire ministries (which was founded by Bishop Robert Barron) is an incredibly powerful faith formation tool. There are dozens of beautiful high-quality videos that cover a range of topics (the Rosary, the Sacraments, prayer, etc). Each video helps you not only to understand our Catholic faith but to fall in love with it in a deeper way. We are able to offer this platform to you for free, so please take advantage of this opportunity!

  • Verify your email by checking your email inbox
  • Select St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica Parish Community

Once you have finished these steps, you are officially on the mailing list! Occasionally, we may send out an email or a video. However, the great news is you can also access all the content on the Word on Fire Digital platform yourselves anytime and on any of your devices. Simply go to Word on Fire Digital using the same email address that you signed up with. Word on Fire Digital may ask you to verify your email occasionally, so make sure you sign up with an email account that you check often.

FORMED

FORMED is another online Catholic faith formation program. The scope of the content is a bit different than Word on Fire but having both platforms together would be a great advantage! FORMED offers great movies, documentaries, books, apologetics, faith formation, sacramental preparation programs, live events, etc. Our parish has subscribed to FORMED and as such we can also offer it to our parishioners for free.

If you are interested, you can each sign up for a free account. Here is how to do it:

Visit FORMED:

  • Click “Sign Up”
  • Select “Sign up as a parishioner”
  • Search “St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica” (65 Bond St.)
  • Please provide your first & last name, and your email address

Once you have signed up, you have access to the entire FORMED platform which contains so much great faith-based content.

Here are a few recommendations from us that you can find on FORMED:

  • The Search
    • A truly stunning series (both visually and because of its content).
    • It consists of 7 episodes, each of which build slowly to reveal the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith using both reason and faith.
    • It is a great tool for re-evangelizing Catholics who have drifted away from the Church and for introducing people to the Catholic Church who may have never encountered the faith. Please feel free to share it with your friends, family, and coworkers.
  • Novena of Surrender to Jesus
    • It is a nine-day set of prayers that helps deal with stress and anxiety, and it is very short (it takes about 1-2 minutes a day).
  • Beloved
    • A program for married couples or those preparing for Marriage.
